2019: Your journey to learn React.js and Node.js
Incoming: The MERN Stack
I started to work on several tutorials for Node.js. It's the perfect fit for frontend developers who want to dip their toes into backend JavaScript. The series starts off by setting up a Node.js application with Express.js which teaches the basics about environment variables, middleware, and routes.
The next tutorial, which hasn't been officially released yet, so you are the first to see it, takes you on a journey on how to implement a REST API with Express.js. Both tutorials are the groundwork for a server-side application that will use a database and a client-side application in upcoming tutorials.
How to learn React in 2019?
If you just discovered my content, you are most likely learning React.js at the moment. Recently, I released a new go-to article for giving JavaScript developers the right tools and mindset to learn React. Maybe it's a great support for you while jumping right into it.
If you are one step ahead of the crowd and just built your first application with React, you may want to check out another new tutorial on how to style your React application with Semantic UI. It can be used for the Firebase + Gatsby application from the beginning whereas all the UI components are laid out for you to use them in real applications.

If you like my content over there, give me a follow :) I am super eager to answer more questions in the future. That means if you have an account, you can ask me questions as well.
That's it from my side for this month. I hope all the new content is interesting to you. Also, I hope you are looking forward to the Firebase book as I do. If you haven't had the chance to pick up the GraphQL book from end of last year, make sure to check it out.
Best wishes and a good start into the new year, Robin
PS.: As always, I am super happy about your nice reviews on Amazon. If you have read one of my books and it had an impact on you, it would mean the world to me if you head over and leave your feedback there.
Book Recommendation
I just finished Bad Blood as audio book. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in Silicon Valley and how certain companies work behind the curtains.
