In my last edition, I shared my comprehensive setup as a web developer. How did you like it? After working several months with it, tweaking it more and more (and updating the guide alongside), I couldn't be happier with it!

Legacy (?) React Patterns

If you have been around long enough in React, you may know about Higher-Order Components. I'd be curious if you are still using them in modern React?

I find there are a few occasions where HOCs can still be useful, hence I rewrote my tutorial about Higher-Order Components from scratch.

But there can be made the case that React Hooks are superior to HOCs ...

React Beginners

If you just started out with React, I've got some new tutorials for you. First a guide about event bubbling in React which comes with a neat use case for event capturing too!

Second, I rewrote my tutorial about props in React which goes into many different patterns for passing props around in components.

And third, if you haven't heard about batching in React, check out this short guide which goes into the differences for React 17 and 18.

Pick of the Month

If you haven't watched it, Bo Burnham's "Inside" caught me off guard. I am not into this genre at all, but it really takes you on a journey. After watching it, I had to watch several of his videos from before this time.

That's it from my side. One last thing: I published a new 2022 edition of The Road to React on my website if you wanna take a look :-)
